The experience
THIS IS NOT FOR THE LIGHT HEARTED AND IS A PROPER SCARY IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE You should never have entered Canada Wood. You crossed the Secret Stones and stepped into a place that has been waiting for you. Follow the woodland route alone as twenty location-triggered chapters transform the real landmarks around you into one continuous supernatural nightmare. The witches have heard your footsteps, learned your voice and memorised your face. Your only chance is to complete the circle and return to the stones—but the person who returns may not be you. The narration begins as a warning, becomes increasingly aware of the walkers, and finally reveals that listening to all twenty recordings completes an ancient summoning called the Congregation. The walkers are never instructed to leave the established trail, touch unknown objects, run, hide, split up, or enter unsafe ground.
The trail
See the route before you go
Starting point
Canada Wood trail entrance, on the union canal (we advise to park at the Falkirk and walk up). Public parking is available at the forest trailhead car park; please park considerately in designated bays and check local signage before departing.
What to bring
Sturdy waterproof walking boots, weather-appropriate layered outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket, a fully charged mobile phone, a portable power bank, drinking water, and a small torch if walking late in the afternoon.
Terrain & accessibility
Unpaved woodland footpaths, packed dirt tracks, exposed tree roots, uneven ground, and potential mud after wet Scottish weather.
Safety
Stay firmly on established public footpaths at all times and do not wander off trail into dense undergrowth. Watch your footing over slippery tree roots and wet leaf litter, supervise children closely, and keep dogs on leads around wildlife and fellow trail users.
