Halloween and spooky experiences in Falkirk
Wheelside makes frightening walks in the woods on Falkirk's doorstep. There are two ways to take part: a hosted terror walk with actors that runs on autumn Saturday evenings, and self-guided horror adventures that play through your phone whenever you decide to set off.
Everything on this page is a Wheelside experience. We do not list other organisers' events, and we only show what is genuinely live — so if a season has not opened yet, you will not find a date here.

- Is the Terror Walk a guided event or a self-guided walk?
- The Terror Walk is hosted. You walk the Canada Wood route as a group with actors along the way, on Saturday evenings through the autumn season. The Witches of Canada Woods is the self-guided version of the same story, played through your own phone whenever you choose to walk it.
- How frightening are these experiences?
- Genuinely frightening. Our horror experiences are written for adults and carry 16+ guidance. They are slow, atmospheric and unsettling rather than a jump-scare fairground, and they take place on unlit woodland paths after dark.
- Is there anything spooky suitable for younger walkers?
- Not in the horror range. Our family experiences, such as the free Coggie the Otter walk at the Falkirk Wheel, are gentle and daytime-friendly, and are a better fit for children during the October holidays.
- What should I wear and bring?
- Warm layers, waterproofs and boots you do not mind getting muddy. Canada Wood paths are uneven and unlit. For the self-guided adventures bring a charged phone and headphones, and load the adventure before you lose signal.
- Can I walk a horror adventure outside Halloween?
- Yes. The self-guided horror and mystery adventures are available all year — the dark evenings simply make them harder work. Only the hosted Terror Walk runs to a seasonal schedule.
